Biography

Dermagen is a collective formed by two chilean artists from contemporary dance and audiovisual. Our work began in Chile in 2014 with the aim of investigating, experimenting and creating around the body-image relationship, exploring within the limits of representation and artistic disciplines.

From our viewpoint, the body is a network of aesthetics, social and political issues; which is imperative to be embraced through the practical research, theoretical reflection and the experimentation with diverse devices and contemporary artistic languages.

With a research interest in the body and its relater to the social context, we have developed artistic residencies and collaborative projects in various socio-cultural contexts across the Chilean territory, with the aim of installing a critical discourse and promoting artistic practices such as research, experimentation and creation with local communities.

From these processes we have made choreographic, performance and audiovisual artworks.
