Performative Habitat
Collaborative Art Residency 2017
For the second year in a row, we participated in the Collaborative Art Residency 2017 funded by the Red Cultura Program of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, Government of Chile. On this occasion, the instance was held on Isla del Rey, an insular rural territory in southern Chile.
The Hábitat Performático residency project implemented a series of itinerant performances in the houses of the community of Isla del Rey. This proposal implied resignifying the private spaces of the community, proposing a new way of thinking and inhabiting them. The performances were carried out collectively between the artists and the community, where the process of research and creation took place intimately in the spaces of the houses, around the question of how we live in our territories body / house / island.
This residency ended with an audiovisual work that records the process and the series of collaborative performances.
