The Place of the Other
Collaborative Art Residency 2016
The Collaborative Art Residency is an instance funded by the Red Cultura Program of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, Government of Chile, which inserts artist from different disciplines in isolated areas of the country.
The Place of the Other was held in the North of Chile in the Atacama Desert, with the community that inhabited the towns of Codpa, Chitita and Guañacagua. In the process of creation and research the embodiment of the material that explored in the context of self-discovery and openness. Through the collaborative art line, where the communities involved had an active participation during the research and creation process, was obtain as a result a body work rooted in every territory. The creation experience was carried out through a series of laboratories where the body was the subject that was interrogated based on the concepts of identity, image and territory.
The residency ended with a collective choreographic creation.
